Photo Day April 13, 2010

April 13th,was the day for my Official Photo Session with Catherine Fiehn. Both my Business Managers were right there for me. First Jared went through every piece of my wardrobe till we found just the right combination. He even lent me some socks!! Then Patrick took over. Covering flaws, blending eye shadows and teasing hair. We had so many laughs. Then it was off to Catherine's studio.

This is the finish product. Not too bad if I do say so myself!
This head shot will be for the Program Book for State.

This one is called "Couture of Concern" Catherine designed it to reflect my Issue of Concern.

C.C.M.C. March 27, 2010

Although this was actually Manual Distribution Day, it was also my first visit to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford. What an incredible place!! While there we were given an opportunity to tour the facility and learn about the work that they do.



From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in a special place. All around there were hand painted murals and pictures done by the children.







Scott Organek was our guide and speaker for the day. He was wonderful.
I listened to him in awe as he spoke of different children and different cases. He spoke of research, cures, and miracles. We talked a lot about what we, as titleholders for the Miss Ct. Family and do to help. By the time I left there, I knew I would return over and over again. I love the children and can't wait to get closer to the whole organization.



One quick pictures of the teens together before we left. Many of our titleholder have already held fundraiser for C.C.M.C. Because mine was one of the last pageants held, I haven't gotten that far yet...BUT I WILL. I can't wait to do my part, But what do do? I want it to be fun and special, but I also want to present the "spirit" of the children there. In any event, seeing C.C.M.C. first hand was an amazing experience.

"Cookies for our Heroes" March 20th, 2010

This was a great day!! On March 20th I was invited to go with Michael Maze of KC101 to the Walmart in Wallingford. It was a beautiful breezy day as we tried to help the Girl Scouts sell as many boxes of cookies as we could. The object was to full the entire army truck. Our cookies would then be added to the collections all over Connecticut and they would be shipped overseas to our brave men and women there. What a super idea!! I had such a good time. I even had a chance to sit with the girls and make cards for the soldiers that would be shipped with the cookies. Actually I do a lot with the soldiers and veterans and I love every minute of it. If not for them....I would not be free to sit in this Walmart parking lot!!! I have great admiration for them, and would do anything to help.

Michael Maze is such a great guy. He is a real "People Person" and creates fun wherever he goes. Thank you for inviting me.

Girl Scouts of America 98th Birthday March 6th, 2010

On Saturday March 6th we were all invited to the Enfield Mall

to help the Girl Scouts celebrate their 98th Birthday. Being a former Girl Scout myself, this seemed like a lot of fun. When I arrived, I was met by Gail McCool (great lady) and a host of girls scouts. I immediately sat down and started signing my picture cards for them. In no time I was completely out of them, so I decided to stroll through the mall to see what else was going on. There were Girl Scouts and Events in every corner. Everyone was having a ball. At noon, all the title holders came together in the center and put on a show for everyone. I personally did a tap dance which was hard on the slippery ceramic floor, but all went well anyway. I had an awesome time and made a lot of new friends. Brought me back to my Scout days.

Idol For Altimizers Mar. 2, 2010

On March 2nd I was invited to join my sister queen Amber Caron collecting for her Issue of Concern...Altimizers. The event was called "Idol for Altimizers" and Amber creatively combined watching Katie Stevens (Miss Westbury's Outstanding Teen" 2009) on American Idol, with her fundraiser for Altimizers. The idea was for everyone to come together and watch Katie on T.V., have a bit to eat, and at the same time we sold raffle tickets and took donations for a great cause. Unfortunately the night didn't turn out exactly as we planned......

Out in Hollywood apparently several of the female contestants got sick, so they flip-flopped the order and put the male contenders on instead!! So we didn't get to see Katie sing..However it was a successful night for Amber and a great time getting together with everyone.

Miss Nutmeg Feb. 27, 2010

The group Picture is of many of the titleholders, Misses, Teens, Jr.'s and diamonds. Were lookin' pretty good!

My first offical appearance was at the "Miss Nutmeg" pageant. It was a great night and produced yet another sister Queen. Amber Caron. She's awesome. Although this was a State Pageant, Jared was to be "Miss Nutmeg's" business manager too. What a great year this is going to be. I had alot of fun catching up with a lot of my old friends I had not seen in a long time. It was a great night!

My Crowing Moment

On February 27th, 2010 I was Crowned "Greater Hamden:s Outstanding Teen" My sister queen Gretchn Hahn (Miss North Haven) did the honors as "North Haven's Outstanding Teen" Casey DelBasso looked on.

I was so thrilled to be chosen for this honor and look forward to the many adventures I will have with my two new business managers, Jared Andrew Brown and Patrick Laffin. They are both amazing men and I know I will learn a lot from them. I am due to meet the Mayor of Hamden, Scott Jackson very soon and I can't wait. I want to do all that I can to be an effective titleholder and a positive role model for the youth of Greater Hamden. Thank you Jared and Patrick, I know I will make you proud.
